The Garden Edit
Gardening is one of the most grounding things I do. But conventional gardening products — pesticide-soaked soils, synthetic fertilizers, treated seeds — can undermine the very reasons we grow our own food.
The Garden Edit is for anyone growing anything, from a window herb pot to a full kitchen garden. Everything here supports the soil, the pollinators, and ultimately the food that ends up on your plate.
Healthy soil grows healthy food. It really is that simple.

Start with these three swaps
Synthetic fertilizer
Worm castings or compost
Synthetic NPK feeds the plant but depletes the soil microbiome. Worm castings feed the ecosystem that makes nutrients available naturally.
Treated or hybrid seeds
Open-pollinated, organic seeds
Treated seeds are coated with fungicides. Open-pollinated means you can save seeds year after year — true food sovereignty.
Synthetic pesticide spray
Neem oil or insecticidal soap
Broad-spectrum pesticides kill beneficial insects including bees. Neem and soap sprays target pests without harming your garden allies.
