Jenny's Story

A nurse who started asking the questions her patients couldn't.

Twelve years of oncology nursing, exercise physiology, and personal illness taught me that the things we overlook every day — the pan we cook in, the candle we light, the fabric against our skin — matter more than we're told.

The path here

Exercise Science

2015

Exercise Science

I started with movement — specifically with what happens to the human body under the particular stress of cancer treatment. My degree in exercise science led me directly to oncology exercise physiology, working alongside patients rebuilding strength and stamina after chemotherapy. I saw what the body could do when given the right inputs. I also started to notice what was working against it.

A Personal Crisis

2019

A Personal Crisis

In 2019 I got sick. Not dramatically, not all at once — just the slow accumulation of symptoms that eventually resolved into a diagnosis of mold toxicity. That year forced me to look honestly at my environment in a way I never had before. I audited my home, my kitchen, my personal care products, my water. What I found was genuinely alarming — not because any single item was catastrophic, but because the cumulative burden was enormous.

Coaching & Community

Coaching & Community

I became a certified health coach and started sharing what I'd learned. What surprised me was how hungry people were for information that was both scientifically grounded and practically useful. Not fear-based, not a product pitch — just clear thinking about the connection between our daily environment and how we feel. The audience grew because the need was real.

Nursing School

Nursing School

I went back to school. I needed the clinical foundation — the pharmacology, the physiology, the diagnostic framework — to speak with authority about what I was recommending. Two years of nursing school, clinical rotations in oncology, and eventually a position as a registered nurse in a specialty that sits at the intersection of conventional medicine and integrative health. It changed how I think about everything.

The Sustainable Edit

I built this site because I kept answering the same questions. Patients, friends, people in my coaching community: what pan should I use? Is this sunscreen safe? What does PFAS actually mean? The Sustainable Edit is my attempt to make twelve years of obsessive research useful to people who don't have twelve years to spare. One room at a time, one honest recommendation at a time.

"Every chapter became a stepping stone. The diagnosis, the nursing degree, the patients — they all pointed here. I'm just trying to be useful."

— Jenny
